So I hired the boys today to move/ deliver a couch from the Peninsula to Melbourne's North. Dane replied to my enquiry pretty quickly & at first I felt that the quote was too expensive but after shopping around I found that their rate was much better than the larger so-called cheaper companies. I also appreciated that they were straight up with me & didn't try to add on extra charges for traffic, stairs & unloading time like the other removalists I spoke to had. I had a tight schedule but Dane worked around it & they even moved my old couch onto hard rubbish for me. I'm really glad I went with 'Quick and Slick' , they were friendly, easy going & weren't phased by stairs (I don't think I was charged extra either). The work was completed. The men were efficient. One of them needed to be a little more careful in the way he handled my things. The biggest problem was the lack of English. The night before the move I received a call and the first question I was asked was "Do you speak Mandarin?" I don't speak any Mandarin. One of the workers spoke NO English. The other spoke some. It made things quite challenging at times. They also asked for a photograph of my credit card which they would process later. I refused on security grounds and organised EFT transfer.
