All of our work is guaranteed and we are fully insured. We are perfectionists by nature and our work is an extension of our personalities.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

Our family has been in the building trade for generations. I began working as a tradesman when I was 16 and spent ten years in that profession. It wasn't until a trip overseas that I witnessed the full power that great design could have. From there architecture was my life.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

A client came to us with a very definite idea of what she wanted but it was not researched and was non compliant. We sat down with her for 3 hours and talked about her life and past which informed a design that she was so overjoyed with.

What do you like most about your job?

Smiles on peoples faces. That first time a client invites you around to their finished home or office and has nothing but good things to say. That moment when their first electricity bill comes in and they have saved money simply through great design. These are the moments we love.

How much is a design? Thats like asking how long is a bit of string. We cannot accurately say how much these things cost without seeing the site and talking to the client.

The project budget. Timelines. We need to know how you live and what you want from the project. A brief of what they require in the project.

You can save money by;  1. Knowing your budget and having a realistic and honest approach to the project.  2. Engaging a surveyor before the design starts. You will need this at some point and helps to reduce discrepancies in the design.  3. Be flexible.

How do you normally charge for your service?

We ordinarily request a site visit with the client. At this meeting we assess the land or home and most importantly ask the client what they want, how they live and how they believe their new project could make their life better. From this meeting we will then provide a fully detailed quote.

Space Odyssey Design specialises in new residential, renovations and additions, commercial and hospitality. We take on all aspects of architectural design and drafting.

Bachelor of Architectural Science. Certificate 3 in Building and Construction. 10 + years of on site practical experience. Construction Industry White Card.
