I grew up working and learning all about timber, tools and the building trade working alongside my father who was a carpenter. I completed 6 form and realised after working indoors for a short period of time that i wanted to work in the building industry so I applied for an apprenticeship and completed it with W.S. Purvis and Co.

What do you like most about your job?

I enjoy being able to take a job site situation where people are unhappy with what is, and transform it to become something that clients are delighted with. This applies to the smallest repair or the much dreamed of extension/ addition or major renovations and alterations etc etc. I enjoy the satisfaction I receive from completing the work and seeing a customer completely happy with the outcome.

When I contract to do a job, I stay on that job until it is finished, apart from unavoidable holdups, and bad weather of course. I am an honest and trustworthy person,and I can say I have been rewarded with the complete trust of many clients over the years.

I am a local tradesman available and on call. I have been operating in the area for 40 years, so local tradesman local knowledge.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

It is important for a customer to have a clear idea of what they require to have done and that they do their best to relate the image that they have in their minds eye ...to me. Therefore the more detail regardless of how small the better. Any sketches that can be provided, preferably to scale to reinforce the detail. My aim is to create the job image and finish that you viualise so as to provide full customer satisfaction

1.Removing clutter, rubbish and obstacles that could be in the way and needing removal. Job preparation can include removal of trees and gardens, footpaths, fencing, unwanted pipes, etc 2. Providing clear details, sketches and specifications of what the client requires will save the need for preliminary sketches etc being prepared. 3. Any confident client can often save money by electing to do internal and or external painting.

I often prepare quotes for jobs based on information and details received from clients or perform work on a do and charge arrangement wherein I will charge for labour and materials etc.

I specialise in Renovations and Extensions and also Repair and Restoration work. Kitchen and Bathroom replacement work.

Qualified Carpenter and Joiner. Registered Builder DBU7574. Completed 2 years of extra Building studies. Been accepted as a credited rectifiyer with the HIA. I am a local tradesman with local knowledge. I am honest and trustworthy.
