Yes I am insured business owner for over 30 years and I am a member of master builders association for over 5 years, I was a member of Housing industrial association for over 10 years too.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I started my apprenticeship as  a cabinet maker when I was 16 years old, I was fascinated in carpenter building wall frames and roof frames when I became 22 years old I went a Marleston College in South Australia learned my carpentry skill there.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

I did a work at Ashfield about 7 years ago, I started it with a  cellar while I was doing it, my client asked me to give them a price for a first floor addition before I finished it they asked me to give them another quote for the office storage under the house next to the Cellar I built, They asked me to do some renovation the existing bedroom and office, it was only 8 weeks of work I ended up working there for 2 years, they sold the house for one million dollars, bought another house at Hunters Hill they asked to some renovation in last May until end of October.

What do you like most about your job?

Something always new and challenging, I do most o the structural work myself or with my tradesmen together,  I like to see my quality finished work and happy faces of my customers.

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

What have they done in the last 5 years, where and what kind of work, with which Company, if I can have the address to go and have a look at the work, if I may speak to his client.

What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?

What kind of roof material (roof tiles or color bond) I always tell them color bond is better because you'll never have a problem with hailstone. Tile roof looks good a bit dearer and its not hailstone proof.

What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?

I never had a customer call me back over last 30 years to fix any leaking roof or leaking shower that I've built, I always tell my customers home warranty is only 7 years but you call me within 25 years if there is any structural problems I'll fix it for free.

I am a good tradesman rather than a businessman   I can answer anything asked and I have a solution to all the problems I can give them some options and budget wise opinion.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

I'd to provide a quote for a genuine customer only  the one who already done their home work or the one with the architectural drawings or the one with Council approval provided.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

I normally give them my good opinion and the right advice, I do quality control check everyday myself so the Council inspectors do not come for second check and I use experienced tradesman only.

I do not have any overhead charges and I do most of the work myself with my tradesman, I do all the Quote myself too.  I run my business from home office no rental to pay.

How do you normally charge for your service?

I normally give them a fixed price contract, cost plus contract means; ( cost plus 20 per cent ) or hourly charge $75 for a carpenter or skilled tradesman and $55 for builders labor.

I am a qualified Cabinet maker and  a qualified Carpenter I can do some good concrete work like drive ways, foot path around the house, strip footing and Concrete slab.

I am a qualified Cabinet maker and a Carpenter, I always do carpentry myself or with my carpenters together to make sour the work mast be done right always, I always make sure the Quality is better than the stander.
