Yes i have all the required insurances in place to complete the projects from, Public liability, Home owners warranty ins, Contract works insurance, workers comp for my employees ect.  Yes we guarantee or work 100%

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I Started taking an intrest in the building industry when i was young, my grandfather and great grandfather were local builders in the area and wanted to keep the line going.

The part i like most would be knowing that i have given something special to the client that they have worked so hard for. Standing back and seeing that i have dramaticly changed a part of their home for the better is the most rewarding part of my profession.

The right questions from the begining will get you on track to make sure you have the right person for the job. i would be asking questions such as. Are you licenced for the works to be completed Have you got all the necessary insurances in place Are all your trades qualified and insured Do you offer a guarentee on your works

I believe im the right person for the job as im willing to go the extra mile for my client. I believe hard work and persistance pays off. Communication is a major breakdown with some builders and i believe by keeping the client updated and informed provides a greater understanding. By being on the tools and working on your project i believe you have less down time and greater productivity

By offering a wide range of services from a small renovation to a full knock down re-build, we cover a broad spectrum of the building industry. I believe communication is the most important aspect of the building industry. I am a builder that is still on the tools working on-site everday, this i find creates a better relationship with the client by being there every step of the way.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

First thing i want to know is what you are aiming to achieve out of your project so from the start we are on the same page. Depending on the job itself i would prefer to know rough budget to see if what you are trying to achieve is actually going to work, its better to be honest and upfront in the begining to work out if its achieveable or not. Have you got plans in place or approved? if not we can help with that too!

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

1. Do your research - find out exactly what you would like to achieve out of your project in the begining to save alot of back and forth with draftsman and the like 2.  Hire reputable people -  from draftsman, certifiers, builders ect 3. Know your limits - Have a rough idea of your budget. This eliminates heartache when you have to miss out on that big glass slider you so badly wanted!

What makes your pricing competitive?

My pricing is competitive as i am a smaller hands on type builder with fewer overheads, I dont employ formen or project managers as i am on the tools on the job everyday and i can complete these tasks myself. I find i produce a more one on one relationship with the client.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Accepted Answer

Depending on the job entailed, it can be a written quote with the invoice sent on the completion on works and 14 day terms. The job can be Hourly hire charge or a set agreed price listed in a binding MBA ( Master Builder Australia) contract with payments made as per contract.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

We cover a broad range of projects. from simple small jobs of changing internal doors to a full ground up build, decks and pergolas, extensions,  concreteing and project management. I try to cover as many parts of the trade as possible

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

i Myself have my certificate III in Carpentry ( Trade Certificate) I then went on to complete my C class builders licence in ACT and NSW. I aslo have completed my Diploma of Project Management for the construction industry.
