The instances where we are called in to fix a previous bricklayer's problem are especially fullfilling. The client is usually upset or angry that they've paid for a shoddy job and just want it fixed. When we can do that for them, it's a satisfying feeling.

The customer should lock in a price first and foremost and confirm exactly what is included in the quote - including materials and labor. The last thing you want is a bigger bill at the end of the job because you didn't confirm exactly what was included in the quote. Check the bricklayer has insurance, experience, and the right tools for the job. Roberts Bricklaying has been called on plenty of times to fix shoddy bricklaying jobs which while may have been cheaper, definitely don't last and end up costing more to fix than if done with a qualified bricklayer - like Christian Roberts - in the first place.

The typical things we need to know include: - a description of what you want built - the dimensions, height, width, length of your project - will you be supplying any materials or do you want us to include them in the quote - time frame - when you want the job to start and when you need it to finish - do you have site plans for larger jobs

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

1. To ensure your job runs smoothly and doesn't incur any extra cost, make sure it is site ready. Ensure all materials that will get in the bricklayer's way are removed. Do you need to hire a skip bin to do this effectively?   2. Do you have other trades who will need to visit the site at the same time? Schedule these visits (as much as you can) with some time in between. Don't have all your tradies trying to work on the job at the same time. This slows the job down which can end up costing you more.  3. Make sure your plans are set. If you are consistently changing your plans as the job is in progress there will be additional cost incurred. Settle on the bricks you need, the design you want and the time frame you need the job completed in. There is a price variation in materials and design. However, we don't mind if you change yours. We just want our client happy with the job!

We offer a FREE, no obligation quoting service which is becoming more of a rarity in these times. Christian will come out to your address for an on-site visit to ensure the quote he gives you is accurate and cost reflective. We will then prepare a detailed quote for submission and approval before we begin your job.

How do you normally charge for your service?

We charge via invoice and bank deposit payment is our preferred option of payment, however we also accept bank cheques and cash. Payment upon completion of job is our usual process however if it is a very large job we may ask for a down payment.

We specialize in all aspects of the brick trade including home renovations, retaining walls, letter boxes, garden beds, front walls, water features as well as insurance jobs, and brick repairs. We are able to provide photo examples of past work as well as addresses across Perth so you can view our work for yourself and not just take our word for it!
