      Job Description: my name is Tiffy I'm totally blind hearing-impaired and I need a waterproofer to come and quote for waterproofing installation in my bathroom where A new vanity basin is going to be installed! I had a massive leak in 2023 and in 2024 it turned into a $3549 nightmare and I'm still suffering the effects today physically because of the cough that I've now got thanks to the stress that I didn't need, especially when Yarra Valley water didn't tell me the Vanity basin was leaking and I didn't know that the Flexi hoses had burst until a Real Estate agent who manages The apartment next door to me knocked on my door and I thought she was trying to scam me and wanted to sell me something! It wasn't until the owners corporation manager at the time demanded that I get in touch with her although she doesn't manage the actual apartments as a lot of them are individual lot like myself, but because I didn't know what was going on or who was at my door I didn't react straight away until a plumber from jet blast drain cleaning knocked at my door and that was when I had to admit that I may have a leak! He checked everything including the water meter my shower and then finally saw the basin and that's where he discovered there was a massive leak that had gone through the adjoining wall and literally smashed the wardrobe of the woman who was living in the adjoining apartment who was apparently pregnant! The upshot of all that was I had to have a friend help me pay for the water leak report because I am on a disability support blind pension there was no way I had the money for anything like this especially when I had never understood a water leak or what to do about it, and I can't see so what the hell was I to know? The damage to the adjoining apartment cost me $2644 to fix and I had to pay that off with my pension, the water leak report was $520 and the new Flexi hoses and the new mixer tap were $385 to install and I didn't want to put a new one on the current basin at the time because it was extremely unusable not to mention an extreme health hazard as I have issues with my breathing and I couldn't store anything in it any more as most of what was in that basin was practically ruined! The old basin has been taken out now and is in the garden ready for disposal when I can afford it, I've purchased a brand-new basin although now it's over six months old and is still in a couple of boxes because I can't install anything yet as my builder/handyman said to me if I don't get waterproofing and this happens next time I could be in more trouble! Unfortunately oneflair don't have a section for a site inspection before any installation takes place, but what I need is a quote first when you can come out here and I need someone who is local to South Morang because being totally blind as I am, if I was to spread the toilet paper around and everything else I've got around so that nothing is in my way, it would actually be worse because I wouldn't know where anything is and I live on my own so the only choice I had with the toilet paper in particular to put the toilet paper next to the bathroom door and the soap and all the other things on top of the washing machine in the extremely cramped European laundry, and speaking of the European laundry because I'm totally blind and European laundries have cupboard doors, I have on a number of occasions got my right toe caught on one of the cupboard doors while closing it and it hurts like hell! It wouldn't have happened if I had the waterproofing done ages ago, but the first job request that I put up, when other companies contacted me they wouldn't come out here because they claim I was too far away for them and I'm so stressed out I'm sick thanks to the coughing! I'm going out tomorrow at 2 pm, but I need an emergency quote as soon as possible so that I can start to put the money aside and get the waterproofing started at least! The whole of the bottom of the wall where the new plaster is needs to be waterproofed as well as the whole of that concrete area that hasn't been tiled yet as well as around the sua pipe! I've heard of a waterproofing material called Gripset and it sounds good, well I hope it is because it needs to seal for good and I obviously know now how to check for a leak that has started by feeling at the back in case something starts to leak, but back in 2023 I didn't know what the hell to do, and if I known what to do then I wouldn't be in this hell now! Because of what has happened with the water leak and the mould that I had on the old plaster, even though the old plaster was removed and new plaster replaced, I'm getting a strange smell that sometimes smells like I've cooked in the bathroom when I haven't, and sometimes it smells like mould, it's a really strange smell and I know it's coming from where the basin used to be! This whole thing has been an absolute diabolical nightmare and I'm fed up now! Because I am on a disability support blind pension I don't have the money to start straight away even though I wish I did, but if I can get a quote and someone to come out here who is local who will take the time to help me and hopefully someone who I can understand as I'm hearing impaired, hopefully this nightmare will soon be over! I'm sorry to do this to any of you, but I'm not coping psychologically because of this trauma that the leak has given me, I'm falling over almost because if I put anything anywhere else around the house I'll trip over even more if I forget where I put it, and I live on my own so that's why this needs to be nipped in the bud now! Please don't ask about the NDIS because I had trauma with those morons way before I moved to this little apartment and believe me that's the last thing I need on top of this! I'm happy to pay you for the installation when I've got the money, but it is only a small bathroom and I just need someone to come out please and have a look at this bathroom and tell me how much it would be to waterproof everything and hopefully seal everything so that when I do get the new basin put in and if there is a leak it's not gonna go through the adjoining wall again because I haven't got the money this time if the adjoining apartment was caught up in it, and the owner who doesn't even live there discovered it happened again there will be no leniency! The woman who lives there is a tenant! I hope you can help me, because I'm running out of options! God bless thank you for reading and chat soon!
