  I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but I didn’t have a great experience with DCInspect and, based on this, wouldn’t use them again. I paid $649 for an inspection on a 4‑bedroom house. In my opinion the inspection felt quite quick and a lot shorter than the 2–3 hours I was expecting (as mentioned on their website). I felt that my concerns about certain aspects of the house like the floorboards weren’t really looked into. I was also expecting more use of the technology shown on their website, but from what I saw on the day, that didn’t really happen. For the price, I expected a more detailed inspection. The biggest issue for me was that I had asked for the findings to stay between me and the inspector. But from what I saw and heard during the inspection, the inspector made comments in front of the seller along the lines that the house appeared in good condition and didn’t need restumping. In my view, this affected my negotiating position as a buyer. The report itself was mostly short, basic statements, which wasn’t as detailed as I had hoped. This is my personal experience.

  Our offer for a house was accepted on Christmas Eve which made things a bit tricky over the Christmas break. DC Building Inspectors replied very quick and were able to accommodate an inspection without fuss. The inspector was very thorough, spent a heap of time checking everything. Pretty apprehensive sometimes engaging people but we were super happy with the service and report provided. Thanks heaps

  Robin completed my first building inspection late last year, and he was absolutely fantastic! He coordinated a time with the RA, and also gave me a layman's interpretation of his findings from the report when I called, which was really helpful to know which issues are normal and to be inspected. I would absolutely use them again, and especially Robin. Thank you!!
