I called three different companies for a quote over the phone. One told me outright that I needed a completely new ducted air conditioning system—for $15,000—without even inspecting it. How they could diagnose that over the phone is beyond me. Another company wanted $1,400 just to come and take a look. Bill from Cool Penguin, on the other hand, responded promptly and came out for a very reasonable $360. His experience was evident—he was methodical, patient, and determined to find the issue. Instead of taking the easy way out, he diagnosed a faulty circuit board that needed repair.
