We are insured and we do guarantee the work we do.  In this industry it is a good idea to check that the tradesmen/company have all the insurances. We can provide all customers with a copy of our certificates of currency for insurances.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

Our arborist/business owner started working in this industry at a young age and realised that he loved this type of work and loves all things plants, trees, palms and shrubs - its his passion - so after working for other tree care businesses it was decided that The Palm Guys would be created and that is now 11 years ago...

We survey all of our customers and we have many many glowing customer feedback forms, thanking the team for a great job and how impressed they were and to keep up the good work.  We pride ourselves on the fact that we have a very high amount of repeat and referral customers which is testament to the great work we do.

What do you like most about your job?

All aspects of the job are great! We do the following - Tree Felling, Tree Pruning (such as crown lifts, reductions etc), palm pruning and removal, stump grinding, mulching, arbor appraisals and storm damage response.

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

Are they qualified? Are they insured? Are they skilled? What equipment do they use? Is this equipment in good working order and safe for all persons involved? How long have they been in the industry? Do they call themselves Tree Loppers? If they do, this implies that they are not qualified as tree lopping is not an accepted Arboriculture term or practice.  Ask to sight their insurance policies.

Do we do trees too? YES WE MOST DEFINITELY DO!!  We are experienced in all aspects of the tree industry and have worked with all types of trees and palms.  Do you have an Arborist onsite? Yes you will have your job completed by an Arborist and a team of qualified groundsmen.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

Generally we need to view the trees/palm at their location to ascertain information on a number of factors - such as size, species,location, access, gradient of land, confined spaces, surrounds, home or public place etc - the price does depend on the answers to the above factors.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

Time is money - so if a fence needs to be removed prior to the job then remove it or if rocks need to be removed from around a stump prior to it being ground out then please remove them as this will assist with the work being carried out more effectively.

To obtain a price for tree work - call our lovely administration staff Courtney and Fiona and they will be able to schedule a day and time for an arborist to provide you with a written quote.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

We do specialise in confined space removal of Trees and Palms.  We have a unique Elevated Work Platform which can fold up to 780mm wide and can access most hard to reach areas and has a height of 15m - this machine eliminates most tree climbing and allows the job to be done safely for all persons and property involved and is far more time efficient.

With over 25 years of industry experience our qualified Arborists can handle all aspects of the tree care industry from small palm cleaning jobs to large scale Main Roads clearing.
