I was given a brief to create a front garden in a Bayside suburb of Melbourne. The task entailed widening the usable space, including a space for a very big trampoline but at the same time creating a contemporary native Australian garden. My solution included intersecting round lawns, a naturalistic planting scheme and an area for the trampoline that would, in time, be repurposed for a deck.

The most common questions are: What is the best place in my garden to build a vegie patch? What vegetables can I grow and when? How do i look after my new garden and vegies?. I provide answers to all questions based on sound horticultural practice and my proffesional experience.

I believe in offfering a professional and quality service. Since 2008 I have designed, built and planted out many vegetable gardens for private homes, schools and community projects. What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

As a garden designer it is beneficial for me to visit the site and take a brief from the potential client. I will need to know the garden area, the location of the property with an address so that I can do a desktop site analysis before I visit. An indication of  budget for the project is also useful, as it will guide my design.

1. Have a clear idea of how you want to use your garden, e.g. Relaxation, Growing Food, Children's play area, etc. 2. Write down a list of all the elements that you want included in your garden design like a shed, children's play area, green house, lawn, storage are for bins, vegetable beds, trees and shrubs, etc. 3. Take a view on what kind of plants and garden style you would prefer, e.g. Native Australian, Mediterranean, English, Urban Contemporary, etc

I provide garden and landscape design services for domestic garden projects. Iwill asses your gaden, discuss your needs and preferences and provide a garden reccomendation, and draft concept plan to discuss. Once  the design is finalised approved I will obtain quotes and provide project managment  for your garden construction.

How do you normally charge for your service?

For my standard range of raised bed vegetable gardens I charge a fee per bed that includes materials, labour, filling and planting with a selection of seasonal vegetables. Additional works and landscaping are charged at $50 per hour plus materials.
