  If I could, I would have given Mr Highlights -5 (minus Five) for workmanship and customer care! Just like most of you, I accepted their quote on good reviews and an attractive price. The job was completed in September 2021. At the same time, days apart, he completed a job for my neighbour across the road. And this is when the happy story ends for me. Some 4 years later, unsightly streaks occurred on my roof. A closer inspection revealed that the entire roof is in a very poor state: moss has grown and the streaks are impossible to wash with water and brush. This indicates the problems started much earlier but I simply didn’t notice. My roof looks now, like the one just before a renovation from his brochure! My neighbour’s roof on the other hand, is still in a pristine condition. My other two neighbours also renovated their roofs at the same time, different contractors, and their roofs have no problems. Mr Highlights maintains this is all my fault because: - I didn’t soft wash the roof every few years; a requirement not disclosed at the time of the renovation. It is worth noting that three neighbouring properties, renovated at the same time without such maintenance, remain in pristine condition. - The edges of my tiles are too rough. All edges of cement tiles are rough and my neighbour’s tiles are even rougher, yet 4.5 years later they look like new. - Winds blow from wrong directions over my roof! - And here comes the latest and the best; There is more moisture on my side of the street, causing all the problems! I found the above explanations to be inconsistent with standard engineering principles. Based on our four neighbouring roofs, to me the situation seems to be simple; something went wrong during my renovation process. But I don’t care what, I want my roof fixed! Don’t fall for Mr Highlights’ 10-year warranty scheme. This used to be 12-year but was recently “updated” to 10 years. As soon as you sign a contract, you will be sent the QBCC insurance which is only 6.5 years: “It's worth noting that the QBCC home insurance warranty takes precedence over both the manufacturer's and workmanship warranties in the event of a complaint.“ It beats me why a person with 20 years experience and mostly glowing 5-star reviews, would be reluctant to fix one or two of his slip-ups. And I gave Mr Highlights my neighbour’s job and even referred them to a work colleague!

  We were pleased with Mr. Highlights from the first point of contact through to the completion of our roof painting. Richard is respectful, honest and maintained ongoing communication throughout. The cost of the job was sound and we appreciated a straightforward process without being “upselled” to other services like other businesses during the information gathering/quote process. The workmanship was excellent and the painters cleaned after themselves. As we live in a townhouse complex, the by-laws were adhered to demonstrating a high level of flexibility.
