How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I got into landscaping when i was a little child, when my grandfather was a gardener at the time and i would help him with the gardens, and getting that satisfaction after the job is complete.

Just recently i was working on a pool coping and tiling job and the client loved the job so much that they made me a special lunch, on my last day there, the client's made me some chinese dumplings with a special dipping sauce. I will never forget how fantastic they tasted. I was suprised and overwhelmed that a client would go to that much effort !!

What i like about my job is the satifaction on the customer's face after the job is completed. I get a sense of achievement when we turn something dull and ugly to something that is rewarding and looks amazing.

Most customers commonly ask me how much do i charge for paving installation per metre. As most landscapers have square metre rates in their businesses.

What makes me the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job is that i am a small business and don't take any risks and honest to my word. When i give a starting time for the job, i start at that time. I can be contacted by email or phone all day and night, and do my very best to answer all your needs or concerns with your project.

A customer should hire me to do the job as i am reliable on time management of the job, communicating with the customer on ideas and information they required to make their project taliored to their needs, start the job when i say i would, giving the customer plenty of time beforehand. Guarantee all my workmanship of the works carried out and provide the customer with a detailed quotation of the works required. I also set a very high standard to detail and workmanship to achieve the best result.

The things that are required to carry out before i can provide a quote to a customer is , i will need to see the site and measure up all works required. I need the customer's full name and address, any contact numbers to be able to communicate and an email if they can provide one. The customer needs to have a certain budget they may aim towards, this will help with choices of material options.

customers need to have a clear understanding of the work they want to get quoted on. The customer also needs to have a budget figure that they may look to aim for, also researching on the internet for certain landscape products or ideas and designs can also save them valuable money and time.

I think my pricing is competitive and realistic to the detail and high standards that i take into achieving the end result. No matter what job it is, big or small, my standards are very high and particular to detail and accuracy.

I normally charge my services by square metre rates, but in some cases i charge an hourly rate, depending on the time required to complete the job, for example a paving job is charged at a square metre rate, but a retainer wall is charged at an hourly rate estimate.

I specialise in all landscaping and paving works. This includes, paving construction, planting,turf installation, artificial turf, retainer walls, irrigation, timber decking, garden lights,waterfeatures, pool coping, pool tiling, general floor tiling and garden maintenance.

I have worked as a landscape gardener for more than 20 years and did a four year landscape apprenticeship. I also have other qualifications in teaching new up coming landscape apprentices.
