How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I am a second generation painter and decorater. I left school a started my apprenticeship working with my father. I couldnt imagine doing anything else.

When i was an apprentice we were doing an elderly ladies house. She offered our crew coffees and we accepted. I was the only one who asked for sugar. The lovely elderly lady had poor sight and didnt realise there was ants in her sugar. Needless to say ants do taste to bad.

What do you like most about your job?

My job allows me to meet alot of people. Also I have seen nearly all of the Gold Coast and parts of Brisbane and Sunshine Coast. The most rewarding is taking tired run down homes and bringing them back to there former glory.

If it is exterior work. You could trim plant life away from areas that are being painted. If it is interior work. You could remove pictures and furniture away from areas that are being painted.
