A client of ours who was given a gift in the form of money. This client was then sued in Court. It was very difficult for our client as this individual had been a former life partner. We managed to settle things without the matter pressing forward even though the lawyers for the partner insisted that our client had no right to keep the money and had to pay it back immediately. Obviously this was not possible as our client spent the money.

We help real people everyday with their real problems. People generally come to us when they are facing very difficult times. We try our best to make sure that our clients are well managed and we operate as efficiently as we can for a boutique law firm. We have been in Perth for 20 years. We must be doing something right!

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

All of our clients will need to go through what is called an 'initial client consultation'. We generally offer 15mins free for new potential clients which most of the time give us enough information before we are able to provide an estimate of the legal fees that a client can expect to pay.   If a matter is litigious or dispute-related, we generally are hesitant to give a fixed fee quote due to the time spent on such a legal matter being unpredictable.   If the scope of work is reasonably ascertainable such as drafting a lease agreement, we generally are able to provide a fixed fee or capped fee solution, subject to conditions.
