We inherited two little foster dogs when their owner passed away rather suddenly. They were untrained: one was scared of his own shadow and barked crazily at every man, woman, child and dog he came across, the other was a mini pinscher paranoid about other dogs. Although we are seasoned dog owners, we had tried, and failed, to address their separate problems over a number of months before Nat was recommended to us. She had their attention before she stepped through the front door (literally) and after the first session we had two very different dogs. Both were very much more responsive. When asked, they stopped barking when visitors or tradesmen came to the house and over the next couple of weeks they began to pass other people/dogs on the footpath without reacting with a string of ferocious barks with the older dog progressively becoming more relaxed and confident. We had the second session a couple of days ago and for the first time today achieved an important milestone in an off-lead area when the little pinscher came back to us on command. They have both started to listen to us. I didn't dream that I'd ever hire a dog behavourist, but what Nat has achieved with these two little folks is really quite magical.
