01 Dec 2023Location: Worongary, QLDJob Description: Enquiring about dog training/socialisation options and prices for my 1 year old rescue, Bonnie. We have had her for approx 6 months. She has some anxious energy in certain environments and mild reactivity on lead to certain dogs (guaranteed if theyre lunging at her or bark) or tall men that stare at her occasionally. She loves playing with other dogs however greets them with no manners (drops in a herding/crawling positive then runs up to them quite fast), gets over-excitable and has started chasing after dogs that are playing ball with their owner. It is as though she immediately competes for their ball and it overcomes her, very hard to regain her focus until we can create enough distance. I dont feel comfortable with her off leash since shes started this because its only a matter of time until she does it to the wrong dog. She also pulls on the leash with a Black Dog halter for the first half of every walk. I would love to desensitise her in a controlled environment to be calmer, well-mannered and not chase after dogs playing in social situations.
