Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

Accepted Answer

Yes we are insured with Professional Indemnity Insurance and we do guarantee our work quality and accuracy to these limits.  We also will not charge for correcting any errors on our part.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

Born into it!  As our family has owned businesses, we always had a role to play in their financial management and administration.  This has led us to becoming qualified as accountants through our studies.  We have worked both in Australia and the United States for many years also.

We have a client who came to us in dire circumstances and we have worked closely with them to move their business to being well financed and soon to become a listed public company.  Another client has been able to reduce their accounting costs by over 50% due to our efficient and attentive services.

What can I claim?  Generally this is specific to the expense and we can provide answers to this. How much can I get back?  This depends on your income and amount of tax already paid.  We calculate. Can we provide reports? Yes we prepare complete financial statements and tax returns.

We have been operating as Vestnet since 2000 and previously as another firm.  Our accountants are qualified and certified at a high level and also serve as officials on public organisations.  Several of our clients are also accounting firms that trust and depend on our skills and reliable services.

Personal service.  We are a small home-based business and we understand our clients in this market.  We also have larger clients with turnovers above $20 million; we can cater to a wide range of needs.

Type business and what information you will provide us with (i.e. computer system used or written records and have receipts been added into categories); which year is the work for; do you have previous years reports and tax returns available; have you reconciled bank account transactions.

1. Provide summaries of all financial information. 2. Using computerised accounting software such as MYOB, Xero and Saasu. 3. Provide copies of previous years reports and returns.

What makes your pricing competitive?

As we do not operate from leased offices, we have significantly lower operational costs and pass this advantage to our clients.  Typically this may mean our fees are up to 30% lower however we are still fairly comparable in fees for individuals tax returns which start at around $90.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Typically by hour for larger projects but can provide some fixed rate quotes when provided with a suitable amount of information about the project.  Clients are encouraged to compile their own data so receipts are added into totals per category of expense, ie. Bank Fees, Insurance, Supplies, etc.

We provide small to medium size business accounting, taxation and advisory services.  Our clients vary from individuals to companies and partnerships and also include family and unit trusts.  Also specialise in SMSF Audits and fund reporting.
