How did you decide to get into your line of work?

My Father and he's brother were Plumbers and had run a successful Plumbing Co that went on to be listed Publicly. It's called Barry Bros and is based in Melbourne. I wish to strive to their success and am very proud of their achievements.

Yes, we were cleaning the Sewer pipes of a Retirement Village and we found a wedding ring. After giving to the representative of the Village, we later heard they found the owner and it had been missing for over 5 years and that her husband had just recently died.

Meeting Customers face to face and reassuring them that we know everything there is to know about pipes and drains and can give them a permanent solution to their drainage where others have failed. We have experience with Councils and Sydney Water and know the best way forward when dealing with them

Why Line a pipe instead of using PVC? Both have the same life span but where Lining is superior is its seemless and is cheaper as digging is not required or very minimal so the labour costs are reduced dramatically. The pipes are also ready to be used in hours not days in comparison.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

Accepted Answer

Type of pipe? Type of blockage? Sewer/Stormwater? What surface is on top of pipe? Camera footage of the pipe in most cases is preferred so there is no doubt of the problem. We recommend they use Plumbers that use cameras so the Customer can see the blockage has been removed completely.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

For some Customers who are willing, we tell them they can dig a particular area themselves. Often, the sooner we repair the pipes the more a customer is likely to save. Lining cannot be done if the whole pipe has collapsed. So sooner rather than later before Tree Roots invade more aggressively

We have been Lining for more than 35 years than our competitors so costs are down due to our extensive knowledge

How do you normally charge for your service?

Accepted Answer

We off free Site Inspections on some occasions, especially when a Quote has already been provided and the pipe has been unblocked. Otherwise we charge hourly for the CCTV, cleaning & unblocking of pipes and then  a lump sum Quoted Price for the permanent repair

Unblocking, Repairing, Pipe Lining, Patch Lining of Sewer & Stormwater for Domestic, Commercial and Industrial. We now Line from 75mm to 1200mm diameter Sewer and Stormwater Pipes and work closely with Councils, Hospitals but mostly the Domestic Customer.
