Take some notes on your issue. E.g What is the issue in your own words, how is the issue affecting you, when did it start, is it happening always or only sometimes, has anyone (inc family and friends) tried to assist you, how urgent is this issue in regards to being fixed? If you know items like the Operating System (E.g Windows 10 Home) and the application names, note them. However, you don't need to know these things. It's our job to speak your language. This is important - is the device (computer) under warranty? Did you maybe buy AppleCare with your Mac? Any extra service that you bought at the time of purchase may greatly reduce any cost of repair, even a software issue.
