How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I’ve been in the auto trade since I was 16 I have always had the ability to repair cars and work on cars, i decided to expand and go into the caravan trade for a while to understand how they fully work. So it just made sense to become an auto electrician. Not just for cars but caravans and earth moving equipment.

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

The customer should always make sure the person they hire can do the job. Being an auto electrician you can find some bad jobs out there and when they bring it to us they inform us it’s been to an auto electrician and they paid a hundred for a job that would have normally cost a few hundred. So they end up paying twice instead of paying once, the cheapest person isn’t always the best person.

What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?

Should I replace globes from eBay. Yes and no. eBay globes are generally extremely cheap and wired incorrectly. They can also draw more power then the body control module can handle.  It’s always best to buy decent quality and not the cheapest. As the old saying goes you get what you pay for.   Can you install Anderson plugs on my caravan and car yes.   Can you install my kings split charger. Yes would we recommend it no.   I’ve installed so many kings split chargers and removed them and replaced them within 3 months.  You are generally better off paying for a better quality and get it installed once instead of paying to have it installed removed replaced and installed again.

What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?

We don’t overcharge and we won’t claim that something needs replacing when it doesn’t, all work is photographed before and after.  If the job can’t be completed onsite we can arrange to have it taken to a auto electrician shop we deal with who will be able to carry out the repair work if required.

We specialise in all aspects of auto Electrical’s, we also have have friends within the trade to assist if the job requires, so you can always be assured that the job no matter how small how technical it can always be repaired.

Make, year, VIN. Do you need us to supply the parts or do you have the parts.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

Accepted Answer

The Main reason customers end up spending more money is they think they can do the job.   It’s important to remember that unless you are 100% confident doing the job do not touch it.  Most components use the body control module, buying those lights from eBay may cause more harm and will blow out the cost.  The amount of repairs I have to do to headlights from eBay globes and it can turn costly.  Pay to get the job done right don’t take the risk

Our fee is dependent on the service requested.  Some jobs will be a flat fee while others will be do and charge.

Alternators, starter motors, caravans all aspects.  Dash cameras and reverse cameras.

I have been in the automotive trade since I was 16. I have over 15 years experience with auto Electrical.  We can also repair starter motors and alternators for older styles, as new models are not worth the time to replace and older starter motors and alternators are harder to replace new
