How did you decide to get into your line of work?

My father, Chris, started Residential Fencing over 40 years ago, and I used to help him on weekends. I then pursued a career as a chef for ten years, but ultimately, I returned to what I truly love. I genuinely enjoy meeting new people daily and working outdoors. I don’t see this as just a job; it’s more of a passion that I love.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

My proudest moment to date was hosting the grand opening of The Big Group Hug in Bundoora, a charity very close to my heart. It all began in a small garage, where passionate women gathered essentials for mothers and children escaping difficult situations. What started as a humble effort has now blossomed into a thriving organization, helping countless women and children in need. Initially, they asked us to contribute a donation, but after meeting the dedicated volunteers, I felt compelled to host the entire event. With around 300 attendees, it was an incredible experience and truly an honor. It stands as my greatest achievement so far professionally.

I don’t see this profession as just a job; it’s more of a passion. I do it because I know it inside and out, and I genuinely enjoy connecting with people. I love chatting with my clients and seeing them happy with the work we do—that’s what truly motivates me.

How long have they been in business, and do they provide their residential address if requested?  I am so confident in our work that, if requested, I am happy to provide my personal residential address, demonstrating my full commitment to every project we undertake.

To be honest, I am very thorough in all my conversations, so I rarely leave any questions for clients to ask. Throughout the process, I check in with them to see if they have any questions, but I usually find I’ve already addressed everything, ensuring clear communication and peace of mind. All i can say is just ask what your thinking. At the end of the day the client is the one paying so the Business should listen and answer accordingly.

Melbourne Airport, Hertz Australia, The Australian Defence Force and many more high ranking companies.  3. All of our staff are Police Checked, WWC Checked and are randomly Drug and Alcohol Tested at times, Myself included

However, I can guarantee that years down the track, if you have any issues related to our workmanship, we’ll be there to inspect and fix it. Our quality and reliability speak for themselves. What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

Generally, I like to know the address of the property and understand what the client is looking for. I like to do some initial drawings before the actual quote appointment to help clients visualize what their project could look like. This service is completely free and is something I do voluntarily because I want my customers to be able to better imagine and plan their project with confidence.

1. Please ensure the fenceline is cleared of any debris or objects that could poke or scratch us, as we typically prefer to avoid doing this ourselves and may charge an additional fee if it’s not done. I believe in being honest about this.   2. Offering the team a drink, whether it's something cold on a hot day or a hot beverage in the cold, is always appreciated. Most of the team bring their own, but knowing you’ve taken the time to offer us something means a lot. As a small gesture of appreciation, I usually give a discount at the end of the project for your kindness and consideration.
