  Absolutely DO NOT hire these people. That they turned up late is not important, that they did nothing for 26 minutes after arriving except talk on the phone. They then rolled one roadcase/crate onto the tailgate lift, did not lock the wheels or position it so it was not right on the edge, and then drop the crate, which fell on the ground on its side and broke. Spilling broken studio lighting stuff everwhere. The movers immediately shut the truck doors, said another crew was being sent, and drove away. Pretty obviously, another crew was not being sent. I was left at the self storage place with a $4000 light kit and other things in the crate all smashed (every light body you pick up is making timkle tinkle broken noises inside.) Tried calling the Onyx office for over an hour. Set phone to not show my my umber when calling and they answerd straight away. Tried talking about it was given torrent of abuse. Apparently all my things were just "smelly rubbish" , that they caused no damage becausecthe box was just full of smelly rubbish, and that I could not smell it because I am. Justbusedvto living in smelly rubbish. " It went on like this. " Smelly" is in Indian culture avterm onducing great shame. It is about the worst thing you can call someone. Not my culture, but I don't appreciate the attempt at shutting my down with shame. I was told the depositvwould bevrefunded. Obviously, this was a lie. The managers of the self storage where this happened came just after the Onyx movers fled from the site and documented the damages, as well as watching it all take place on the security cameras. For what it's worth, when they came back around as I was left trying to clean up and load things back into the unit, i asked them to comebin and confirm that it was not just me who could not smell anything amiss Both agreed there was no smell. And that has been Onyx Removals for me. Lots of pictures, two independent syatements and some security video to back my story. I have been told that the chances are strong that their claim to having insurance for damages and PL are fraudulent, thus the way they have behaved here. Zero stars Avoid them. Like the plague. I read the reviews on google too. Before hiring them. Deeply suspicious of their validity now. Update. It seems entirely redundant to say they lied But, predictably, the deposit was never refunded. The reply posted by them to this review continues a lie contradicted by both common sense (if I want to get rid of something, i would hire a skip at less than 1/4 the cost, obviously, ) They mention having photos, but certainly haven't shown them to me. We took photos too. As did the staff of the storage place. And I have now seen the cctv security footage, too. Anyway. Avoid doing business with Onyx, even if it seems they are your only option because everyone else is booked. You are better off waiting.

  Very unprofessional and disappointing experience with Onyx Removals. They showed up an hour late and that too only after I followed up with them. Once they arrived, they worked extremely slowly, clearly trying to stretch out the job since they were being paid by the hour. I hired them to move heavy items, but they kept asking for my help, which defeats the whole purpose of hiring movers. Would not recommend them to anyone looking for reliable or professional service.
