Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

We have public liability insurance and equipment insurance.  Michelle is an accredited member of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

We (Michelle and Jen) are both born creatives.  Art was our favourite subject at school, and photography was a natural progression from school to university for both of us.  We live and breathe image making and couldn't survive without making something everyday.  Photography is just a medium for us to release our creative energy.  Also, we are both people pleasers, we can cope with pressure and we love to work to deadlines; so wedding photography is the natural choice.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

One of our favourite weddings was Mel and Ben's in a private property at Tabourine Mountain.  No frills.  No bells and whistles.  Just two people utterly in love and two families overjoyed to be there.  A basic picnic, lots of family and friends, plenty of refined booze and a live band.  The kids played through the fig trees in bare feet while the adults sat on picnic blankets and chatted with friends.  We stayed there while the sun went down and the guests danced under the stars.  Amazing, and cheap! Although, you need to know someone with an awesome black of land on Tambourine Mountain!

What do you like most about your job?

Being on my feet and the pace of shooting an important and beautiful event.  Helping people who are busy, stressed and excited to feel confident about their photography and about their wedding day.  Making a difference and creating something permanent that means so much to so many people.

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

How many weddings have you photographed?  What is your back up plan if you are not able to make it on the day?  Do you have a shot list you use to ensure you get every important photograph?  How long will it take to get my photographs?  Do you do post production on every photo?  How big are my digital negatives (i.e. how large can I print them?).  Can I please see an ENTIRE wedding you have photographed as it was given to the client?

10 years of experience.  Bachelor degrees in photography (quality assurance!).  2 photographers at your wedding plus connections in the industry, so if one of us gets run over by a bus we can quickly find a replacement photographer we have worked with before.

We just need to know your wedding date so we can check if we are free and not already booked.  Also, your venue location helps too.

What makes your pricing competitive?

All our packages include two full photographers and ALL of your photos as digital negatives.  All photos you receive have FULL post production.  We also have a comparably fast turnaround - you can expect to have all your photos within 4 weeks of your wedding.  If you choose to have us for 8 hours or more we will show you highlights from your wedding during your reception (and these may be shared by you on social media immediately).

We specialise in documenting weddings and family events, which is 95% of our business. We also take natural family photos.

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

Michelle and Jen both have bachelor degrees in photography and graphic design.  Michelle has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photomedia from the University of New South Wales (College of Fine Art) and Jen has a Bachelor of Visual Communications from the University of Technology Sydney.  Our benchmark comes from our experience learning from the best in the industry.  We know how to make an outstanding gallery-quality print, and we have a deep understanding of digital and analogue photographic processes, light, composition, post production and photographic theory.
