1 star because that is my only option I would like to say that initially Mario and his workers were quite helpful in that my skirting job was a bit more complex than either of us anticipated. The worksmanship was satisfactory and there was a small amount of damage to the wall due to the chisel work, but this was expected and not something I am unhappy about. The issues arise with various damage and careless actions that occurred throughout their process of working, which included paintwork and bedhead damage and disconnection of internet. I had told Mario as he was putting duct tape down (to indicate to his workmen that the skirting near it needed to be removed), that all but a few select spots of the skirting needed to be removed. Instead of putting duct tape on the skirting directly, he put it on the middle of the wall above it. When it was later removed, the wall paint that I have only recently had done came away with the tape. When I mentioned this to Mario, he tried to say that my paint was old as if that was an excuse for why it happened. Additionally, they damaged an antique style bed head that was attached to a hospital bed. Furniture moving was a part of the job and when it came time to move this bed, instead of moving the bed from the base, they must of tried to do it from the bed head because the next time I saw it, it was detached from the hospital bed. Mario downplayed the damage and then when I asked them if they were going to fix it, they made it out like they were doing me a favour! Mario didn’t drill a pilot hole before he drilled into the bed head so then it cracked, Mario’s response to this was that it occurred because ‘it was old’. I would like to note that it is not old, just designed in a vintage style. They also disconnected my internet, I had warned them specifically to be very careful working around this area that the cables run through, which they assured me they would be. I’m not very tech savvy so before he left, when I noticed that the internet wasn’t working, I told him that it’s not working. He claimed that he put everything back the way it was and then tried to quickly troubleshoot the issue with me by getting me to check the tv to see if the internet was working. As he was rushing me because he wanted to leave, I assumed that the internet was working again because the tv channels were working, but after he left, it was evident that the internet definitely wasn’t working. As a result, I had to hire a handyman to fix the issue and he noted that the cable was not connected which means that the internet could not work. So now I find myself with damage to my walls, my bedhead and having to hire a handyman to fix an issue that was caused by Mario. When I informed Mario of these issues, he downplayed all my complaints saying that the paint job was old, the bedhead was old and that the internet was put back the way it was before, but none of this is the case. I hired Mario to do a skirting job and don’t believe that damage incurred through carelessness should be part of the experience.Ricky
