At Little Grasshopper we don’t let stiff family portraits get in the way of capturing real moments of connection. Will your kids sit still and behave themselves? Of course not! But kids aren’t supposed to sit still, they want to have fun and run and be chased, and we’re up to the task! Family photography is about capturing your family where you’re at, however impossible it might feel to get good photos of them. With our play-based approach there’s no way to do it wrong, just turn up and be yourselves and leave the rest to us. I have had the joy of capturing Canberra family portraits for over 10 years now. The best part of my job is laughing with you, getting lost in your stories and making genuine connections. I truly believe this is how we capture authentic photos together that speak to each family members personality. I pride myself on being able to match the energy of any child no matter what age or temperament. If that involves creating games and getting down and dirty with your little ones, then I’m in. As a mum of two, I understand that family life is chaotic and nothing ever goes to plan when you have little humans running about. That’s why all of my family sessions are play-based and lead by your unique family dynamic. So if you’re after perfectly posed family portraits, looking at the camera and saying “cheese”, I might not be the photographer for you. But if what you’re looking for is the genuine connection amongst those beautiful unscripted moments – then let’s do it!
