What COVID-19 measures do you have in place?

Accepted Answer

I have a COVID Safe Plan. I always have sanitiser with me, and if required by the venue or location abide by the 1.5 metre rule and wearing of masks. I have a QR Scan in code also.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

Funny story. I actually went to a work friends wedding and the Celebrant was so awful it wasn't funny. Her lipstick was badly applied and she looked like she had rolled out of bed and rocked up! I remember thinking to myself, gosh I could do that way better than her. So, I investigated how to become a Celebrant. Loved every minute of doing my Cert IV in Celebrancy. I always knew I had a passion for writing, and being able to tell a couples love story allows me to put that talent in place. I also feel like I am a Storyteller, by that I mean, I love engaging with people and hearing their life story and telling it back beautifully.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

I have married two ex's to their new partners. I married the ex-wife first to her new man, and believe it or not she is on really good terms with her ex-husband, so he was invited to the wedding. He loved me and then asked me if I would marry him to his new lady. Actually it was so amazing being able to see these lovely humans embrace life and move on with it, but still be able to be in each others life due to sharing a lovely little boy.

What do you like most about your job?

I love, love, love making people happy. I am mesmerised by watching my couples look into each others eyes and say their I love you's. Being in the presence of such hope, love and commitment gives me the best feeling. I often drive home from my weddings playing the music loud, singing along with a smile from ear to ear. Love it!

Firstly, I would have a look at their reviews, what other clients say about a Celebrant will give you a fantastic taste of who they are and what they are all about. I also always think it is best to either request and Video call or face to face catch-up so that you can talk to the Celebrant and get a real sense of who they are and what they can offer you.

What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?

#Usually it is the price of the ceremony. (I am straight forward with my pricing and make it available on all my advertising areas).  #Do you charge a travel fee? (no, I don't as I claim my mileage back on my tax) #Can you play our music for the ceremony (Yes I can, I have an awesome PA speaker that can be blue-toothed for any device to play it through. I also can manage the playlist from my phone via Spotify. #What time do you get to the ceremony site? (I always aim for 1.5 hours ahead of time if I am doing all the styling and arbours. If no styling is needed always 45 minutes beforehand)

What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?

Good question! I am the most honest, reliable person on this earth, without a doubt. Why? I would never, ever let anyone down, full stop. I go above and beyond to make all of my couples day absolutely perfect. I am also a Justice of the Peace and love to give back to my community by being available 24/7 in this role. Plus I enjoy helping people out, who are going through hard times, or facing serious illnesses. I always do their ceremonies for no charge, as it gives me more pleasure to help someone out than it does if they paid me.

Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?

I love my job so much I decided to add heaps of extras in. With me, I come with the choice of 2 arbours fully styled, rugs, aisle runner, lanterns, "Welcome to the Wedding Sign" on a nice while easel. You name it, I can make the ceremony area look simply magic. I discovered I have a real knack for flower arranging and decided to put it to good use. I do not charge extra for these items, as I want to ensure that my couples can save some money so they can spend it on their reception or honeymoon. Plus it gives me so much joy to do the set-up. I have even had Venue's Co-Ordinators say to me, "Oh you were a Florist right beforehand". Nah, but thank you for the wonderful compliment.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

Location, date, time is mainly all I need. If a couple are struggling with the date, I usually tell them to find their venue, who may then dictate your date, then start with all your other vendors. The Celebrant should be high up on the to-do-list as if you want a good one, you need to book them early!

I am happy to always chat about my pricing. If a couple are financially struggling I am always happy to reduce my price. But remember I can give you all the styling options also which will save you $$$$. I am not doing my role for the money side of it, so am always happy to do whatever I can to make things easier.

Easy! I have a part-time job=income.  I am debt free=mortgage paid off!! (PS that was my 50th Birthday present to myself, my last payment made on my house, YES) I am not in this to make money, so I always price myself accordingly

How do you normally charge for your service?

Accepted Answer

I normally charge more for a Saturday, but all the other days of the week is the same pricing. Clients can pay me in installments, or the day before the wedding and I am happy. I like to get a $100 deposit as a show of commitment to me also.

Delivering bespoke ceremonies that are perfectly written that it captures everyone's attention. I love it when I walk around after the ceremony and the guests come up to me and say "oh that was such a lovely ceremony, you made it sound like you knew the couple so well". Perfect, that is my promise to my couples, beautifully delivered ceremony that is all about them and their love.

I have a Certificate IV in Celebrancy, I am a Justice of the Peace, I also have a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment plus Business Administration. I also am a ABIA Wedding Industry Finalist for 2021 with a rate of 99.61% by my couples.
