I guarantee my work because I use only the best Australian Standards adhesives and materials for the work.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

As a single mother who could not afford to tile , I range up the Tafe and asked them to teach me.  I never tiled my home until years later, I only tiled other peoples homes because I was so glad to work after 15 years of being just a stay at home mum.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

I had clients from New York that actually owned an apartment used for the movie ghost busters.   I tiled their penthouse en-suite in marble and they came all the way to see the finished work. (Pictured )   I also tiled the entrance footpath in mosaics for a 3 time winner of the Euro Song Contest.

What do you like most about your job?

Nice clients and a great cuppa tea  or coffee  while working.    Its important to be happy to get up to get to your work cause you have great clients, who wont sit on your shoulder while you work.

When will you finish?    Answer:   When I finish!  I have this to say Rome was'nt built in a day,  good work comes with patience.

What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?

Accepted Answer

I will complete your work from beginning to end without leaving your job for another in between.    You can trust my work ethics and quality because I have always been a hard worker,  especially when giving a cuppa or sippin on a mother energy drink.  Just don't talk to me whilst working because I am such a chatterbox, my hands flay everywhere like an Italian which means no work happening while talking.

Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?

As a female tiler, I am more proficient when it comes to detail and having an artistic background of graphic design helps me to advise clients on the most aesthetic placement of features and tiles.   So if you don't want an elephant in a china shop tiler then call me.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

Is your vanity wall hung, the screed can be different to the waste otherwise.     Are you going for up market or general design.   If you prefer not to screed on the  floor before tiling, are you willing to pay the price for the longer time frame.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

1.    Pick tiles from my supplier, he will always give a better price for tiles and adhesive.  2.  Make sure electrical wiring is done before tiling, make sure your plumber makes the waste pipe ready for a screed.  3.    Choose quality tiles (on special), it makes all the difference in the world, don't go cheap its not worth it.   Although I prefer porcelaine, travertine and marble to Ceramics, there are now ceramic tiles  that are pretty dam good!

Tile a second bathroom, and you will get the waterproofing free for the second bathroom, saving you  $450.00.   Tile more than 100m2 and my price comes down to $56 m2 for floor tiling.

What makes your pricing competitive?

Your bathroom tiled to the ceiling would normally cost around $6,000 to $30,000.00 however, an average bathroom tiled by me would cost you around $4,500.00 tiled to the ceiling.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Accepted Answer

I charge $65 per hour for jobs that are smaller than a medium bathroom area, however, should there be more than 100m2 I will reduce my rates to $56 m2.   This charge is for all ceramic tiling, porcelaine and marble tiling.   It does not include materials only labour, plus extra charges for difficult cuts in doorways and mitring or variances requested.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

I specialize in bathroom renovations and kitchen splash backs, although I have completed flooring to all living areas besides carpeted bedrooms.   I can tile swimming pool waterline edge in glass mosaics and complete  pool plastering as well.

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

I trained at Balga Technical College with the best tilers as lecturers.   I have  experience tiling  with marble and porcelaine tiles.   I remove tiles , render, screed, brickup, waterproof and tile to 600 x 600 .  I major in bathroom renovations and kitchen splash backs and the biggest job was tiling a 3 storey house completely by myself in all the floors, 72 steps 4 bathrooms and two kitchens in Subiaco.  That was one of my greatest jobs including  tiling for a New York couple's penthouse ensuite  in Mount Street in marble 300 x 300's.
