What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

Accepted Answer

Ask to see a full portfolio and arrange a meeting to make sure your personalities click! My full portfolio can be found on my website (www.hollyk.com.au) and I always arrange a phone chat to discuss details before booking anything in. Also included in my quote is a 30 minute face to face (or zoom) meeting to get to know eachother and confirm the runsheet for the day. This way you don't have a stranger showing up to your wedding day!

What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?

We feel awkward posing, will this be okay? Absolutely! My posing cues consistently produce natural, candid shots of couples. My approach is unobtrusive and subtle, with the goal of capturing real moments of love and connection.   What is your turn around time? You will receive your full album within 3 weeks of your wedding day! I know it’s a long time to wait, so I will send a few of my favorites within just 3 days. For family photo sessions, you will receive your full album within 1 week!

What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?

I take bookings on a first-come, first-serve basis. I require a non-refundable deposit of 30% to lock in your date. Once this is processed, I am all yours for that date and won’t consider any other bookings regardless of profitability. If the wedding is canceled for whatever reason, I will refund 70% of the total package cost, and if I have to cancel (this has never happened), then I will refund you any paid amounts

Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?

When I'm not photographing weddings, I'm traveling around Mexico with my partner on our small sailboat. Our dream is to sail across the Pacific next year and bring our little floating home back to Australia. All proceeds from my photography work are going towards the expedition of a lifetime!

The nature of the photoshoot, how many hours you require a photographer for, the location, and any other special requirements.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

Accepted Answer

Leave it up to me! I visit shoot locations prior to the photoshoot to plan the photos according to lighting, location, and backdrops in order to save time when I'm with my clients! Less time spent on the shoot = Less costs

What makes your pricing competitive?

I'm good at what I do and I believe my pricing reflects that whilst also catering to those on a more modest budget. There are never any hidden costs (unless extra travel is involved) and I don't put a limit on the photos you receive!

How do you normally charge for your service?

Accepted Answer

I charge a flat hourly rate, which takes into account editing time, travel and tax, as well as the actual time spent shooting. I don't set a limit on the number of photos that clients will receive and don't charge extra for clients to receive their photos. Quotes are all-inclusive.

I specialize in wedding & elopement photography. As a professionally trained documentary photographer, I have a unique ability to get all of those real moments throughout the day - no need for awkward posing and uncomfortable couples! I also love photographing families.

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

I have a Bachelor of Digital Media, majoring in Photo Media from Griffith University. Over the past five years of photographing weddings, events, formals, families, and engagements, I have developed my unique, natural, and timeless style in the shooting and post-production process of photoshoots.
