  We used GBC Elite Cleaners to complete a bond clean on a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment in Newmarket. The fee was $585 then we had to pay an extra $30 for the verandah to be cleaned. From the moment they were due to start the experience was poor, they were late kept hassling us for a payment up front when we said that we would pay half then the other half on completion this wasn’t accepted so we paid 80% up front. They then phoned us after 3 hours to say they were nearly finished. When we went back and inspected what they had done in 3 hours there were so many things wrong with the clean we pointed this out and all we were met with were excuses we showed them the dust that they had left the shower screens that were smeary the kitchen cupboards and tiles that were still greasy just to name a few things. After more excuses we left them to go over these things so an hour later they again rang us to say they were nearly finished only upon going back we realised that it still wasn’t a good clean but they reassured us that it was acceptable and that they do it all the time and if the real estate found anything they would come back and fix it straight away as they lived close by. So we paid the balance thinking that the clean would be approved by the realestate as they had guaranteed it. After the inspection we received a phone call from the real estate stating the clean wasn't acceptable and this was followed up with 50 photos of things that these cleaners had not done. The real estate then charged us another $350 to cover the cleaning of the work that GBC Elite cleaners had not done. On attempting to contact GBC Elite cleaners we were ghosted by them. All we wanted was a refund of the $350 that we were charged on top of the $615 that we had paid to GBC Elite cleaners so they would still be paid $265 for a poor cleaning job. We did eventually get a phone call from them and was told that they didn’t give refunds but would fix the cleaning, they had missed the window to do this because they hadn’t responded to my initial phone calls and new tenants had moved in. I will be reporting this company to The Department of Fair trading and the ACCC . I would not recommend this business for any type of cleaning and I’m hoping that this issue will be resolved by the ACCC and Department of Fair trading very soon.”
