Yes we carry $10.000,000 insurance. We guarantee the quality of our work. Ultimately the client has approved the design brief before the work commences so we have never had an issue with expectation.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

A love for beautiful things of course. Everyone regardless of whether they live in a large or small house, unit or bungelow everyone has the right to live in a safe, comfortable, peaceful and beautiful enviroment. We show clients how to live well and functional.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

Well we have been invited to Wedding, christenings you name it. My favorite however is we had just finished a batchelor pad, right down to buying the cutlery. We asked it there was anything else we could do once everything was finished. Our client said yes you can find me a nice girl. We thought about this and introduced him to one of our friends. They were married 6 months later!

What do you like most about your job?

Oh there are som many thing I love about our work. Firstly being trusted by a client to working on the most important place in their lives- their home. Its fun!, We get our clients to be involved as little or as much as they want. Lastly showing the client the finished product is very satisfying.

Experience experience experience. Some decorators have only completed a short course of weeks and call themselves designers. Beware of cheap consultation fees. This indicates that they have nothing to loose are just trying to be the cheapest on the market.

The most common question is "i know what I want but I just know how to achieve it" This is were we help a client feel confident and reassure them that the finished product will infact be what they are wanting to achieve,

Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?

We are experienced and qualified in our areas of design, many Interior decorators do not have the credentials to qualify as designers and decorators. Beware of firms offering low consultation fees as you will find they are not credited.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

Knowing their expectations of what they want to achieve. Whether they have their own tradespeople or if we will be quoting on tradespeople. An onsite visit always allows us to be more accurate in quoting. Once a client has approved our design proposal there is no additional fee for use to project manage the completion.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

Time is money and it is always a good idea if a client has some images of design work they like. Inspirational images from magazines etc. This helps us to understand the aestetic they are trying to achieve. It is very important to discuss the budget that is available. This saves valuable time which saves the client. We work well within a given budget. Lastly the relationship between a designer and client is very important as we are generally dealing with their home, placing trust in your designer is paramount.

As mentioned previously, we offer One Flare clients a credit of the initial one hour consultation if they proceed with a future service.

What makes your pricing competitive?

Accepted Answer

Our services may not be the cheapest available however we are confident that our expertise in this field is the best. I would be wary of companies offering cheap consultation fees.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Accepted Answer

An initial consultation is charged at $225.00 + GST. This fee is payable on the day and we do have credit card facilities. During this one hour we can determine if more hours are required to complete your design brief. If a client was to proceed the original $225 if then deducted from a future purchase.

We treat all aspects of design work with the same enthusiasm. Whether it be a colour consultation to a complete build no job is too small of too large. We welcome any opportunity to work with your architect or builder.

I have been a designer for over 12 years. Initially an art major I found my true strength in design work. Each year we undertake further study in current trends future design forcasts
