I took my complete, working laptop to get the power jack replaced. I got back three boxes of computer bits! While I was told "I'll keep you informed throughout the process" I received NO communication! I called on the day agreed to pick up my laptop as I had had no communications to be told "as its a slow business week I'm shutting shop for the day"! So what my laptop wasn't important enough to work on during the entire week? There was no apology for the non existent communications nor the completely unacceptable state that my 'laptop' (now in parts!) was presented in. Even though we fix computers, we are human, and make mistakes. In any case, we are willing to own up, and apologize if we indeed had agreed on a fixed completion date during our verbal conversation, which had eluded me. I do sincerely apologise. We received a Dell Inspiron laptop with a badly damaged power jack and two replacement powerjack domes to be used to repair/resolder, which had been sitting in a drawer for several month. Some bottom screws rubbers were missing, and a loose metal clip floating around inside. In order to suggest a much better repair outcome AT NO ADDITIONAL COST to our customer (instead of resoldering the power jack back onto a potentially malfunctioning or broken "power jack circuit board"), it was our intention to contact our customer once more after the initial phone call on the day (one week later) to suggest this and clarify. We left a message on her voice box, POLITELY ASKING FOR A RETURN CALL at customer's convenience. Instead, we received a TXT message saying "... this is turning into a hassle...", expressing her intention to have us abandon the repair process so she can to pick up her machine and take it to another repair service in the afternoon straight away. We gladly obliged. Customer first. We made a suggestion IN CUSTOMER'S BEST INTEREST to not have the machine re-assembled (for various reasons),? so the technician of her choice could get started right away, and to AVOID repeat assembly - disassembly, which can cause unnecessary wear to fragile component such as plastic clips and LIF connectors. We did not receive a reply. Customer accepted the boxes with the professionally packaged components (antistatic bags, bubble wrap where necessary), asked whether that is her laptop ("Yes, it is!"), smiled, and took off immediately without asking any further questions. Customer did NOT MAKE ANY ATTEMPT TO CONTACT US after receiving back her laptop. We can be reached via Oneflare message, BBM, TXT, phone call or email. Instead she left this insulting, defamatory "review" the next morning which seems driven by a need for vindication and retaliatory action, rather than seeking a true resolution of any problem or issue with our services. ________ In any case, we are happy to make amends and offer the following remedial action (without any implicit or explicit admission of fault, at our discretion): 1) Customer self-repair, we can send a link to the Dell Service Manual, no charge 2) Re-assembly of the system as it had been handed to us AT NO CHARGE 3) Reassembly of the system, replacing the COMPLETE faulty "power jack circuit board" AT ABSOLUTELY NO EXTRA charge (value $50) as per our original intention, at the agreed / quoted price, estimate about three working days (with express shipping) At Friendship IT, we take problem resolution very serious, AT ANY COST TO US, and are happy to offer Sam these above-and-beyond options: 4) Replace the faulty power jack circuit board and re-assemble the system ABSOLUTELY FREE 5) Failing this, replace the faulty laptop with a same / very similar model refurbished unit, by swapping out the hard disk / transferring data ABSOLUTELY FREE. Offers 3) and 4) expire within 5 days, by Friday 16/09/2016, and are conditional on mutually forgiveness and leaving the past behind. We take this "review" as an opportunity to show our intention to achieve the best repair outcome for our customers, and to demonstrate that problem resolution, even in difficult cases, is only a phone call away. This could have been and can still be resolved with a two-minute phone call. In this case, customer clearly chose not to ... **************
