Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

I do have public liability insurance and my gear is insured. I guarantee my work in the technical sense, of course.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

Photography combines Science, Math and Art, which are 3 favourite disciplines or interests of mine. It is something that combined with my love of people was a natural choice.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

When I photograph older people for Skin, Bone, Soul photos, they always say that they're not very interesting. As we go through their story they realise that no-one else has their story and it is unique and special. This is true of most people I meet but it's particularly evident with the seniors

The interaction with people, hearing their story and then seeing in image of that person in such a pleasing light.

Reputation is everything and of course I will do everything possible to make the job go well including punctuality, equipment reliability and my desire to see you happy with the work you've paid me to do.

Dave takes a good photo in a technical sense, with the added ingredient of your personality coming through the picture, which is the most important part of a picture of any person. Dave has the can-do approach to making any photo happen.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

Preparation. Make-up, hair, clothing decided on and sorted Relax. Instead of thinking about relaxing (this won't make you relax), think about your journey, your partner's journey, a loved one etc. Locations. I don't know every location everyone knows. Have some favourites ready for suggestions.

What makes your pricing competitive?

A lot of photographer's out there will charge you double my prices and will point their camera and justify the price because they have lovely camera gear. I have excellent equipment also and provide a very different experience you will feel great about afterwards.

How do you normally charge for your service?

As a general rule I charge by the hour for photography ($100/hr) and for editing photos is $10/photo. Travel is $25 inside the metro area. I am happy to travel outside metro area and we would discuss a fair price.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

Wedding photography and portraits, in particular with portraits i specialise in telling a senior persons story through photographs (Skin Bone Soul). I also work well with family shoots.

20 years experience in photography, great personal skills in how i treat people and interact. The attitude to make a shot happen, or the creativity to suggest a great idea for a shot.
