How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I studied accounting and finance at uni, worked with ERP systems, JDEdwards, Netsuits, MYOB, ran a business in wholesale and distribution industry and owned my business in hospitality industry. I have consolidated them all to help small and medium businesses for their bookkeeping needs and more.

I have a client who had messy accounts maintained by unqualified hands and did not understand why the cash flows is always short when the P&L showed profits. I cleaned and made the client's accounts tidy and up to date. I helped to understand the difference between cashflow and P&L.

Customers do not need to do anything. I will visit them and collate necessary information. The first visit is free.

The first and initial consultation is free. I quote a price based on value which my client will get from my service. It means that I do not charge by hours. How do you normally charge for your service?

Once I find out what services my client need, I package them as a scope of services. I do not charge by hours, I focus on the values which my client will have, and I do not apply the same rate to the works which require the different level of skills. I also make more than one proposal to my clients, so that they can choose the most suitable one under their circumstances.
