• How did you decide to get into your line of work?

  I trained as an Electronic engineer and joined a company asking for panel wireman who could read technical drawings and make corrections if needed. My employer saw that I picked up quickly what they were doing and decided that I could assist them in the field as well helping to install high voltage switching equipment and control and protection panels. I enjoyed the work a great deal and asked the company to make me an electrical apprentice so that I would be able to earn my A grade license. They did so as they valued what I was able to contribute to the company. I am continuing to work with the company while undertaking my own jobs on the weekends. The weekend work suits many clients who are not available to be home during the week.

• What do you like most about your job?

  Meeting new people who can often become good friends after the job is completed. The happy customer at the completion of the job. When I finish the job and know that it is as good as I would want to see in my own home
