How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I have been passionate about photography for as long as I can remember, having worked with a big Sydney studio for a number of years, I decided that I would love the creative freedom to run my own photography business.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

Pretty much every time I exceed the clients expectations with the finished photographs, even on occasion bringing a few to tears ( of joy I might add!). It makes all the planning and preparation that we put into every wedding shoot ( the unseen work) worth the effort when we create images that we know people will look upon with great emotion and joy for years to come.

What do you like most about your job?

I love meeting new clients and creating great images with them, wether it be a commercial shoot and we are helping to create images to promote their business or a family portrait shoot / wedding where the love, emotion shines through in our images

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

There are a lot of photographers out there that don't really have the experience in the genre of photography that they claim to have - always ask to see a portfolio of work that relates to the type of photography you want e.g. Wedding images for a Wedding photography join etc. This can be as simple as a website gallery.

Q. What happens if your ill and cant attend A. We can either re-book or if it cant be moved ( such as a wedding or a corporate event) then another of our photographers will cover the shoot.

I plan the work I do meticulously and leave no stone unturned in my preparation. All my prices are upfront and completely transparent with no hidden charges whatsoever.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

What the client actually requires in terms of end product after the shoot ( e.g. Framed photographs) or with Weddings - how long the client wants coverage on the day. Similar to Events also - the key aspect is how long you need us their for.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

Prepare for the shoot - we can also give you some advice on this. Be precise about what you actually want - i.e. framed images or just a usb of images and also try to book well in advance we can offer special rates for work booked well in advance.

We offer customers of Oneflare special rates that go beyond our normal rates- this is to reflect the valued service we get from the Oneflare system of acquiring work.

What makes your pricing competitive?

We have done extensive research into pricing to make ourselves very competitive, whilst at the same time valuing our art form, there is always a lot of work in both planning and post production of photography away from the actual day photographing

How do you normally charge for your service?

Accepted Answer

We charge a set rate for Portrait shoots and then there are various costs with different sized prints and frames if clients require these also. Weddings are organised with a choice of three packages or we can tailor make one to suit your needs. Event Photography is charged either per hour or an overall price for the length of the event.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

We specialise in People photography. Photographing people in various stages/areas of their lives is what inspires us. We love to work with our subjects to get the most from the shoot and to create memorable imagery.

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

We have been shooting for over 12 years and are very experienced in Wedding, Portrait and Event photography. David also has formal training and various qualifications in photography.
