Dave has been into photography since he was a teenager. It is in his DNA and has been passed on to his children. Working at something you love - it doesn't get much better.

What do you like most about your job?

Simple - working with people. Once the ice is broken and the subjects are relaxed it becomes a very enjoyable experience. More importantly, the photo subjects are more likely to provide some beaut natural expressions and candid moments.

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

Don't be afraid to ask for examples of previous work and experience. Of course ask about any extra fees. If they are charging an hourly fee, check when this starts. You don't want to pay for their 45 minute or more drive to and from a venue.

QUESTION: How many photos do you take? ANSWER: How long is a piece of string? With modern cameras we could say we take thousands of pics, but we aim for quality, not quantity. Too be honest customers ask a range of questions and we answer each one of them. I guess a common question is about how long it takes to receive their package. This depends on complexity and editing needs, but usually within a week or so.

Previous jobs and testimonials speak to this, but once again we are in this business for love and will not over book ourselves. By keeping bookings to a workable balance, we can ensure that our full attention is given to each step and aspect of your package.

Dave, "the boss", is retired from full time work and does not operate this business to survive. He works for the enjoyment. Our business aim is to provide a quality service at a reasonable price.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

Location is a factor, but most important is a clear understanding of what's needed. We would like to have a clear understanding of what you want from a session. Don't be afraid to ask for that special moment, eg: "Please try to get Mum's face when the music changes to Star Wars when I walk down the aisle."

1. Seek quotes from other businesses, checking that you are comparing apples with apples. (Our lenses and flash equipment cost more that some photographers spend on a camera.) 2. Know exactly what you want and don't fall for the extras that are hidden add on costs. (A shrewd ploy by pop up photo stalls in shopping centres.) 3. Plan ahead to ensure that a photo session runs as smoothly as possible, particularly with larger family groupings. This could reduce extra time and therefore extra money. 3.

Our charges are all upfront - nothing is hidden. Prices vary depending on the package needed. A basic portrait package would start at $125, depending on location.

Working with people is the short answer. We will quote on any request. Dave loves the live action of concerts and performances, but also works hard to capture people in a relaxed portrait setting - babies, families, formals, engagements and weddings.

Decades of photographic experience going back to the developing and printing of colour and black and white film has creating an in depth appreciation of the craftsmanship that should go into every image.
