I admired the work my groomer used to do, and it gave me inspiration to try myself. It can be a hard job, but so very rewarding.

Do you love your job? Are you patient? Do you have lots of dogs booked in........ is my dog just a number? Do you practice OH & S? Will my dog be safe from other dogs?

How long will it take? I answer as best as I can, but each dog is different and things can get delayed quite easily. I ask that owners are patient as it is their baby I am grooming.

I am the sole operator. My business is my life. If you aren’t happy, I’m not happy. I care about your dog’s experience and love seeing happy faces at pick up!

I love my job. Seeing happy dogs, and their happy owners gives me a warm fuzzy feeling. I don’t rush, I don’t have dogs banked up or running around underfoot. To keep a dog calm, or ease anxiety, I talk to them, I give them hugs and try to make their time with me a pleasant one

The Breed of the dog or dominant breed if a cross, approximate weight and condition of the coat. Is it thick, curly, straight or matted

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

Accepted Answer

Brush your dog, not justover the surface, but from the roots. It’s amazing how small knots can double, triple and become a mess, leaving no option but to clip your dog short. Dont rub vigourously with a towel after washing, blot the water. Less knots! Try not to chop the hair away from the eyes.

Less overheads. I have room to move with my pricing and can offer discounts for pre booking or lead generating

How do you normally charge for your service?

I have a base price for the smaller dogs, with an extra fee for matted dogs. Larger dogs are a bit harder to quote on, but I do give a fair estimate when either phoning in or bringing the dog in.

I enjoy grooming large dogs. However, the little ones are still full of spirit and the different characters I come across every day make me smile

I have been in the grooming industry in the Illawarra for over ten years. With a mix of bathing, drying, grooming and clipping, I believe I have the experience, and patience, to make your dog’s visit a pleasant one. No harsh words or negativity. Bring your baby to me and let me pamper your pooch.
