How did you decide to get into your line of work?

Jules started as an apprentice in 1990 and fell in love with building swimming pools. He always dreamed of owning his own swimming pool business, which he was able to achieve with hard work, dedication and a great team around him.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

Accepted Answer

Our favourite customer story is our very (VERY) loyal family. They have been a client of ours for over 15 years and move around a lot. Everytime they have move they phone us and ask us to build them a pool. It's always nice to catch up and to see the different pools we have created for them.

What do you like most about your job?

We love making people happy! There is nothing more satisfying then finishing a pool and landscape project and watching our clients faces when they see it for the first time. We also love challenges and when our team overcome one during a build it is very rewarding.

The most commonly asked question is 'Can we make the quote the cheaper?' The answer is yes we can but by doing that we are compromising on the quality of the pool build. We want to deliver the best pool for our clients and happy to run through quotes in detail so they can understand the costs.

Cityscapes is family run business so we are personally invested in making sure we deliver on customer expectations. Our team is small so we are all held accountable for what we do. Customer satisfaction is our number 1 goal and our team aren't afraid of hard work to achieve this.

We are a family run business with over 50 years combined experience. When you choose Cityscapes you work closely with our in-house design team and lead builder. We are a one-stop-shop for all your pool and landscaping project needs. We offer pre-designed and custom packages to suit all budgets.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

- The type of pool they are looking for - concrete, plunge, lap etc.  - Their budget - The size of their backyard and the access available to the backyard With this we can provide a preliminary quote but there would be a bit more work involved before a final quote could be provided.

Our pre-designed packages are a great option for families or those on a restricted budget. They are affordable but do not compromise on quality. We aim to work with all our clients budget in every way we can. If it's achievable we can make it happen!

It is hard to put a price forward as every project is different for us. We offer pre-designed pool packages starting from $29,950.00 and our custom projects are designed in line with our clients budget.

Cityscapes Pools and Landscapes are a boutique concrete pool builder specializing in the design and construction of complete pool & landscape projects. We build lap, plunge, concrete swimming pools of all sizes and shapes along with full landscaping design and installations of all varieties.

Our head builder/ company owner, Jules McLaughlin is qualified in Pool Building & Structural Landscape and has over 30 years experience in the swimming pool industry. Alison Ahlberg, our Head Designer and Estimator holds a Diploma of Horticulture and 20 years experience.
