How did you decide to get into your line of work?

My work has evolved over 30 years of working in and for small business and corporations. I have worked in areas that I loved and I am creative so any work requiring some sort of creativity I was attracted to. I also get a strong sense of satisfaction knowing I have helped someone achieve something special.

One of my favourite stories is when I helped a friend actually. She was struggling with her business, trying to decide which direction to go and where to focus her energy. She also struggled with self esteem, as we all do sometimes. Using my personal and business statement process, we worked together to define what she wanted for herself and her business, aligned them and got her working in a new and exciting direction.

It is not how many degrees someone has, or always whether they are qualified. Sometimes you can be more qualified to help someone with their business based on your experience. My advice, ask questions that can pull out information demonstrating the service providers experience. Questions like... what would you do in x situation, how often have you done x, when has x worked for you, do you have a guarantee.

How do I get customers? You get off your butt and do what it takes. Don't sit behind the computer and wait for them to come to you.

Sometimes I stuff up with my directions and I turn up late, you know what they say about women reading maps, that's me. I love what I do and I like seeing results. Results drive the reason I do this. If we are scheduled to meet up I will always contact you to reschedule if a conflict comes up. I offer flexible hours that suit both parties.
