How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I excelled at school in business principles leading to working within the financial department of multi national corporations, and being complemented and recognised for my natural flair with figures and troubleshooting. It was a natural progression that I set up my own company.

One of my customers had a bookkeeper doing their books for many years. I took over the bookkeeping and the first thing I did was a data file audit to ensure all the chart of account allocations and GST allocations were correct and the reports had a true meaning. I found many mistakes had been made and the client received a $12,000 refund from the ATO.

What do you like most about your job?

I enjoy the flexibility being able to work around my clients busy schedules. It is also very rewarding when I see a load lifted off my clients shoulders because they know their books are up to date and are correct.

How many years in the industry,  what experience do they have, ask questions about their business and their requirements, flexibility is important, experience in that particular industry.

The customer explains about their business and asks if I am able to help them? My answer is Yes I can, and we set a date that suits. Some may ask the rate, I give them my hourly rate.

I turn up on time. I work around my clients busy schedule. Confidentiality is assured. I back up the data file and provide a copy to my clients. I can provide reference from current clients.

Experience, attention to detail, competitive rates, I listen to your requirements. I like to meet on a regular basis with my clients to chat about their business. I take an interest in my clients success.

The industry, the size of the business, location, how many entities are to be reconciled etc.  In most cases I like to meet with the client to discuss and then give an approximate price.

1. Have invoices, receipts, cheque books, bank and credit card statements in monthly order, check to see no bank statements are missing. 2. Make notes on transactions/documents that are not self explanatory - eg private, 20% business, paid by cash etc 3. Brief overview of your day to day business operation.

My genuine expertise, professionalism, and over 21 years experience incorporating many different industries. I am also flexible enough to set a monthly fixed fee.

How do you normally charge for your service?

I charge by the hour, all inclusive.  For regular clients, I am happy to set a fixed monthly fee. If a client does not have their own MYOB software, there is a small monthly fee to use my subscription for the latest version including all upgrades and troubleshooting support.

I am a registered BAS agent. I work closely with Accountants, I am completing my CERT IV in Accounting and I have over 21 years hands on experience with many different industries.
