Yes I am absolutely insured and guarantee all of my work 100%. Should I not meet the expected outcome of the job I was hired to perform, I would happily apply a full refund. I have never had to refund a client in 17 years and I am determined to hold that record.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

It was when I was traveling around the world that my passion for photography ignited. I wanted to capture all of that beauty. When I returned to Sydney, I wanted to learn more! I wanted to acquire the technical knowledge my creative side was seeking. The rest is history!

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

I recall being contracted to photograph headshots for all executives for a very high end and well regarded hotel chain. Everyone kept warning me that I should tread especially with the CEO. Turns out he loved his photo so much I ended up being asked to do his family photos down the track!

I get to use my skill set in such a variety of ways. Every job and different and that keep everything feeling just as fresh as what it did 17 years ago.

There is such a huge variety of questions my customers ask. Too many to list here, but no matter the question I always answer with objective honesty and transparency.

I strongly believe that you simply can't have successful longevity in a very competitive industry such as photography WITHOUT being completely reliable and trustworthy!

Ideally the more detailed information you can provide the better! Try and give a detailed brief of: Expected image quantity  Estimated job completion in hours Your expectation of the final results and what you are hoping to achieve

Whilst things can vary depending on the type of job to be completed, my suggestions would be: 1: Offer an informative and detailed brief 2: Ensuring you and anything else is ready to go upon arrival 3: Make sure you try and keep the photographic job description consistent with your expectations

I would offer an introductory 10% discount off the cost of the photography for all new clients. Should they decide to return in the future, then I would keep the 10% discount as a regular business discount.

Accepted Answer

I do like to keep my finger on the pulse, in regard to current pricing trends. I also feel I am competitive regardless. If you are providing high end imagery at a reasonable rate then how can you go wrong!

How do you normally charge for your service?

It does depend on the actual job but generally I charge for the actual job, not per hour as there isn't a definitive expected final cost. I feel my clients like to know up front what they will be investing.

I am known for my absolute versatility in a wide area of the industry. I have extensive experience and knowledge in Lifestyle/Travel, Family Portraiture, Product and Architecture/Interiors photography.

I received a diploma in Commercial photography at the end of my studies at Ultimo TAFE. 17 years professional experience. From a full time staff photographer for Australia's largest independent publishing company, to a kindergarten/family photographer and now owner and director of Live by the Sea
